Coming to Bayimba … Singer and pianist LYLIT, 2010 and 2011 were more than great years for the singer and pianist LYLIT. Not only that the former Motown Boss Kedar Massenburg (Erykah Badu, India.Arie, D’Angelo, etc.) signed her to his label, but she also was on tour through Europe with Joe, Keith Sweat and En Vogue. In October 2010 LYLIT’s song “The Plan” was iTunes’ Single Of The Week in the U.S. and along with that she released her critically acclaimed EP “Unexpected” (voted in Top 10 of R’n’B releases 2010). Before she focused on her solo career she had been the leadsinger of the famous Parov Stelar Band and performed and recorded with artists like Ty, Blumentopf, FivaMc, SK Invitational, etc. She is currently working in the studio with producer Andre Leonard on her debut LP, which will be released in 2012.
Coming to Bayimba … Titan a.k.a Jeff Mukasa born in July 15th 1987 in Kampala and raised in Mbale. Titan is a singer, songwriter and producer based in Mbale. “In 2008 I took on music as a profession and that year I recorded my first song in First Love Studios with the help of Nicolas Mayanja and the Late Paul Kim, als0 member of East Cost Entertainment. Since then I went on releasing songs like Satawayi, Nakutaka,Twagalane in 2008, DJ Ndunia, Calorina in 2009, Kakwagale, super Lady, Mwana muwala in 2010 and Nkuwe in 2012”. Titan has performed at the PAM awards in 2008, Bayimba Regional Festival of the Arts in Mbale and in Kampala with Ngoni in 2011. He has also worked with re-known performers and music producers in the country like Kaz Kasozi of Sound Kitchen, Paddy Man of Audio One, Ngoni of Goodenuff, First Love. Titan won best artist of the year in the Elgonia Music Awards of 2011 organized by Signal Fm.
Coming to Bayimba … Bebe Cool (Moses Ssali, born Sept. 1st 1977) started his music career around 1997 in Nairobi, Kenya. A few years later he moved back to Uganda together with Red San and his compatriot Jose Chameleone. Bebe Cool came to fame with some of his first popular singles “Fitina” and “Mambo Mingi”. Since then, he has consistently released albums with hits to the present day. Bebe Cool has collaborated with several local, regional and international artists. Once formed and still a member of the East African Bashment Crew, wining several Awards, major nominations and performances on tour and concerts in the UK, US and the rest of Africa. Bebe Cool’s appearance at the 5th edition of the Bayimba International Festival will be his first since the Festival started in 2008 … and he promises to make it different and special than he has done a thousand times before.
… for the 5th time in a row, DJ Rachael a.k.a 4 Raynsom returns to spin at the ever-blessing Headphone Disco session at the Bayimba International Festival of the Arts. DJ Rachael performed as a resident DJ in Club Silk for over 10 years and currently as a guest DJ in several new and old places and spaces, more frequent on invite to all regions of Uganda and beyond. “Before Deejaying, I actually started as an MC, which I have picked back on now and actually have some few singles out now, more so with a leading hip hop song on Malaria” At the HEADPHONE DISCO this time, DJ Rachael promises the best of the best.
