Alec Ndiwane, a self-proclaimed “prophet,” was almost killed when he recently charged some lions at the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Ndiwane and some other church members were watching the animals from a vehicle when Ndiwane suddenly went into a trance-like state and began speaking in tongues.
Ndiwane got out of the car and charged the lions, who saw him running towards them. The big cats, in turn, charged Ndiwane who quickly turned around and ran back towards the car.
However, one of the lions caught Ndiwane and swiped his behind with a paw, causing a serious injury.
Fortunately for Ndiwane, a game ranger fired a gun to frighten the lion away from his buttocks.
Ndiwane was taken to a hospital where he underwent emergency surgery on his injured behind, which doctors were able to save.
Ndiwane left the hospital the next day.
“I do not know what came over me”, Ndiwane said. “I thought the Lord wanted to use me to show his power over animals. Is it not we were given dominion over all creatures of the earth.”
According to Naij.com, another self-proclaimed “prophet,” Prophet Abodunrin, entered a lion cage at the Ibadan zoo in Nigeria, even though the zoo keepers warned him not to do so.
Sadly, but not unexpectedly, Abodunrin was eaten by the lions.
Another attempt to prove religiosity involved Pastor Franck Kabele, who told his church that he could reenact Jesus Christ’s miracles in 2014, reported AllChristianNews.com.
Kabele cited Matthew 14:22-33 from the Bible, and tried to walk across the water in Libreville, Gabon, which is located in west central Africa.
While his congregation watched from the beach, Kabele quickly dropped into the water and did not surface.
